Estoy una camarón

Sometimes your heart is so full, it's hard to put feelings down into words, and that's how this week went.
Sometimes your heart is so full, it's hard to put feelings down into words, and that's how this week went.
The CCM is full of imperfect people, but we're all trying our hardest to be who God needs us to be. We start our days early and go to classes for Spanish and grammar the bulk of the day. When we aren't in class, we are encouraged to speak the language.
When there is little to no experience prior to the CCM for language, there's at least one break down from a member of your district every night. But the support system from my district is powerful. We've been told the spirit from our district is so strong because we have so many sisters.
I love the people in my district so much. Every single one of them has a unique tool belt that is individual and it's so easy to see their potential. Often times we have to remind each other of our potential because patience in learning a language can be difficult. There are so many tender mercies every day that it makes everything better.
For example, Hermana White saw how excited I was that there were oreos at dinner and the next day she handed me a little pack of oreos and said she saw them at the lil tienda (store) and thought of me.
Sundays are the best days because we finally have a chance to dive deep in the scriptures in personal study. There is so much love and excitement from these fresh faced missionaries that every moment is full of the spirit.
The night ends in the apartment where my companion and I fall asleep to the sounds of the city with the mariachi band and shooters literally outside our window across the wall, causing the hermanas and I to drop to the ground, reminding us that we really are in Mexico, and not just an exotic hispanic EFY.
Half my district got sick on Monday with a violent stomach bug that's been going around, and that caused for a slightly eerie day with a half empty classroom. The work never stops!
Earlier today we got to go to the temple and man, there is power and peace that comes from the temple.
Slow, but steady the language progresses, but I'm happy. I know that this is the true restored church on earth, and I'm anxious to be able to share the love of Christ, both in the CCM and in the mission field.
John 14:6
Dios te ama y yo te amo,
Hermana Udy
