Como le va...?

March 4, 2020

Me again, already! Saturday was a half pday, but while I'm in the CCM my pday will be on Wednesday! I can read your emails throughout the entire week, but can only respond on Wednesdays.

At the peak of the stress of the CCM in my first week, one of the Hermanas in my district had to say an opening prayer for a lesson. Since we're trying to immerse ourselves in the language, naturally, they have to be in Spanish. We have a little cheat sheet that has helpful phrases for conversation and praying and all that jazz. Well, the Hermana started her prayer out with how are you, instead of Dear Heavenly Father, and the entire district lost it. You have to find the little things to enjoy so that you don't get overwhelmed in the entirety of it all.

One thing that has been really interesting about the CCM is how the focus is on learning the language, and there's not a lot of time to study Christ, but when we do have a chance to study (in english) it's a physical relief. The weight of it all is lifted, and there is real joy that comes from studying the scriptures.
Eventually I'll be able to understand fully how to speak what's in my heart in Spanish, but while my Spanish may not be great, the spirit is perfect, and I know that through God's help I can be the missionary that I need to be. I know this is where I need to be and I'm so happy to have this chance to serve.
